Memory & Composition: Inventive Drawing

Service Description

This well thought out course will challenge you to produce multi-figure compositions. Covering specific aids such as principles of composition, you will be given exercises to provoke the imagination and gradually adjust to working inventively. As a jazz musician improvises, memory drawing frees the hand for exaggeration and taps into imagination, allowing the artist to work with glimpsed gesture and expressive movement, not found in sustained poses. This course best demonstrates the direction of the Drawing School, our aim to make classical drawing relevant in our times.
