Pathways

At the Wellington School of Drawing we offer many different classes, from beginner to advanced

and you may be wondering where to start.

As a beginner wanting a general introduction to Drawing,;

Good classes to consider would be:

Still Life, Cast Drawing, Figure Drawing or Master Studies Drawing.

If you are interested in Concept art or Illustration:

Start with Still Life, Figure Drawing, Analytical Drawing, or Master Studies Drawing, these will prepare you for our advanced classes, Anatomy then Memory and Composition (Inventive Drawing).

If you are drawn to Portraiture:

Start with Cast Drawing then Portrait class

You want to study Oil Painting:

We recommend you learn to draw first: Still Life, Cast Drawing, Figure Drawing or Master Studies Drawing,

then Portrait, Analytical Drawing and Anatomy.

Once you have a fair understanding of drawing you will be well prepared for Painting classes:

Starting with Master Studies Painting or Still Life Painting, then advancing to Figure and Portrait Painting.

If you have any more questions, feel free to contact us.

Tell us where you're starting and where you want to go. We will help you get there.
